October

I LOVE the month of October 

and 

it just went by way too fast!!!

 Even though I started the month out with a nasty cold,

 I was able to pull it together in time for a weekend trip to

San Diego to teach a workshop at
 The Country Loft in La Mesa, California,
What a great time I had and met so many wonderful new friends
 plus got a good dose of sunshine!!!

If you live in the area I suggest you get out and visit the shop this Satuday!!
 I believe they will be all decked out for Christmas!!!

Next it was off to teach a workshop at
 Terri Staats' 

Sweet Treasures Studio
 in Keizer Oregon,
More fun and new friends!!!

Lynne, Diane, Linda, Terri, Loretta, Laura, Cynthia, Sue, and Amber!!

A quick trip up to Puyallup, WA to speak and have a trunk show

 at the Comforters Quilt Guild......
these ladies were so wonderful to me!!
We were so busy we didn't get a photo!! :(

Then I was able to sneak in a couple of 24 hour quick trips to the Oregon coast with the kids,

 and to top it off we had a couple of birthday celebrations,

 overnights with NANA,

and of course another cold!!!

Whew!!! That was a lot!!! 

The clouds are rolling in,

 the temps are dropping,

 and

 the first day of Autumn 

is on the calendar this week!!!

I am so ready for the season change this year!!

I have always loved Fall!! I love the colors, the coolness, pumpkin patches, 

cider, the first wood-stove fire, time for a pot roast again, socks, 

and WOOL!!!! 

It's a great time for more wool applique!!

Simply Vintage Autumn 2014

 Its a gorgeous late summer day here in Oregon!!

The skys are blue 

and the wind is whipping around,

 making the leaves whirl, 

the walnuts fall from the trees,

 and cleaning all the dust out of the trees!!

The new issue of Simply Vintage

 is out and you will love it!!! 

See that little acorn needle keeper in the top left corner.....

yep....a project from me!! 

There are some great projects in the book from some of my friends too!!!

Fall is approaching and the days are getting shorter.....

well.....the outside days are getting shorter.

 Most of us love summer

 and 

are sad to see it go

but...... 

the "shorter darker days"

 mean

 longer stitching days!!! 

It's the perfect time to get some projects started

 and be ready for those cooler

 LONGER STITCHING

 evenings ahead!!
