Mending the Soul

I am so not a writer..........and wish I was!!
I love how some people can put
thoughts onto paper and they just make so much sense!!
So even with my lack of talent in that area I continue to blog and in hopes to improve as I go!!
Midweek I find myself with a much needed desire to sit and sew........ that is what I am going to do tonight....even though it is already 9:00 pm. I will sit and let the stitches mend my soul!! I have spent two days this week with my dear father in law at doctor appointments and chemo and the other two days celebrating my husband and daughters birthdays!! If I do the math right that makes 4 days and it is only Wednesday!! I think I probably did two of those things on the same day!! Plus I did fit some GRANDDAUGHTER time in there!!
That also mends the soul!!
Here is a little stitchery and needle keeper project I have been working on.
There is nothing like sitting with a spool of your favorite thread, a needle in your hand and stitching the days worries away!!
I hope you find time to do a little of your own stitching this week!!

Pincushions and Playtime

It's dark out right now but earlier the sun was out, the air was crisp and the leaves were everywhere but on the trees!!

The week started wet and raining......really raining!! I snuggled into my sewing room during the down pours and had some fun working on a few new wool projects and making these little pincushions from some antique basket blocks I found at a sale!

Later in the week the sun came out just in time for me and Addison (my granddaughter)to take a walk in all those leaves!!

What a great time we had playing and she even helped me in my sewing room!!

Now that the days are dark earlier I hope you are finding more sewing time!! Hope you have a SUPER SEWING SATURDAY & SUNDAY!!

UPS

Today I got to spend the day with my sweet granddaughter!!
(Addison who will be 2 in December)

I got the phone call from my daughter in law (Karah) saying they were on their way so ,
I jumped in the shower and waited for their arrival!!

I got ready as fast as I could then ran around the house doing a few things before they arrived...... then there it was....the knock on the door!
They were here!!

I was downstairs when the knock on the door came...so I ran up the stairs........yelling...I'm coming...I'm coming..........NANA is coming!! I am going to get you, as I got closer to the door!!
I crouched down, opened the door and said BOO!!

GUESS WHAT....!!!
It was not her!!! LOL!!

It was the UPS MAN!!

Fortuanatly UPS people are always in a hurry and he was already back at his truck so I am pretty sure he did not hear me!!
I grabbed the package and shut the door fast....I just cracked UP!!

So I thought this would be a good time to show you my favorite UPS people!!
My husband (JEFF) is a wonderful UPS man!!

He has been for many years and all his customers love him!!
Last week on Halloween Addison dressed up as a UPS person!!
My daughter in law (KARAH) ordered the costume
and planned to surprise PAPA with a visit on his route that day!!

It was so much fun seeing them together!!
He was sure proud and took her around to some of his customers to see his TREAT for the day!!

It sure is tiring being a UPS person!!

Today I am thankful for UPS people.........those who bring my packages.........my wonderful husband........and cute little Addie!!

November

NO SUN

NO FLOWERS

NO BEES

NO VEMBER!!!

Even though the month of November brings shorter days, it is the month we take time to remember what we are thankful for!! Although we should do this every month.......well, even every day it is good to take time to count our blessings!! I encourage you this month to write down one thing each day that you can be thankful for!! I will start......today I am thankful for our woodstove........our furnace fan stopped working (IT IS A BRAND NEW FURNACE!!) But....because we have a woodstove we can still keep warm until we figure out what is wrong!!

In my sewing room this week I am getting ready to teach a class. We are going to be making Wool Christmas Ornaments!! They are so fun and easy!! It will be lots of fun to get together with others who LOVE to hand stitch and have fun!! I am making a yummy treat to take to my class!! Hope they like it!!

I am starting to feel settled into my new sewing space and am loving it so far!! I can tell I am starting to have fun in it because it is already starting to look messy......WORKED IN!! That's it........not messy....just productive!! My husband installed some more lighting above my work area and it helps so much!!

It's late and I am off to frost the goodies for tomorrow before heading to get some sleep!! I am excited for tomorrow!!

My New Work Space!!

I've Moved!!
Since we moved into our home 3 years ago our basement has been home to our daughter....our son and his family......housed several guests............and home to many little mice in the dropped ceiling!!

Recently it has become vacant and we evicted the mice!! We tore down the old ceiling and closed up the gap where they were finding there way into the warm, dry space!! We installed new sheet rock, put in an additional window, and and some fresh paint.

Perfect for a my studio!! I had tons of fun moving all my tables, wool, books, tools, and all my personal treasures down and into place!!

So everything is in place and it's time to CREATE and ENJOY!!

Still have some finishing touches to do like trim and things.....but I couldn't wait any longer to get all moved in!!

I love all the wool colors!!

You can't have enough tables to work at!!

Our new window we added lets in much more light!!

Thanks to my sweet husband!
