Thank you Stacy for all your work to put this together!!
This is only the 2nd post of the blog hop so jump right in and don't miss a hop!!
When it comes to my Christmas memories as a child I can't help but think about
my dads long wool socks with a red stripe and red toes hanging somewhere
in the house filled with oranges and nuts Christmas morning!!

I don't really remember anything else that was in them.....just that we always were excited to dump out all those different nuts and get to use the old nut cracker.
Shiny tinsel is a vivid memory along with a special gift from Santa!!!!
Depending on the shift my dad worked determined if we opened gifts on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day!!
Its funny to sit and think about the past.....and realize that over half of it....... has been as a mom and a wife......which means I have memories of my own little family and our Christmas traditions like
hunting for the Christmas tree.
In the beginning it was just me and Jeff heading out on Hwy 26 to Mt Hood trekking through the woods and snow (ankle deep!!) in hunt of the perfect God grown Christmas tree!!!!
Several years later it involved outings in the woods with the kids in tow.....They were hunting for the tree and I was usually hunting for them (knee deep in snow)!!!
The years pass and I sent Jeff and the kids out to get the tree while I stayed home nice and warm waiting for them to return while making warm cookies and hot cocoa!! (I'm getting smarter!!)

As the kids left home it was back to me and Jeff at the corner tree lot spending way too much time and $$$ trying to find the PERFECT Christmas tree (usually in the rain) !!!!

Our kids now have their own kids (GRANDKIDS ...the JOY of my life!!!) ....
and new family traditions are being made.
So finally that brings us to our newest tradition....... I send the kids and grandkids out with money for the tree and a hunting they will go hunt (in the snow or in the rain) and bring the PERFECT tree to NANA!!
After all it doesnt matter what it looks like anymore
when the grandkids pick it out!!!!
We don't usually have a white christmas or even that much snow.....but when we do get it.... we always try and make an effort to make a snowman!!!
Last year my granddaughter Addison called and wanted to come up to Nana's house because we live at a higher elevation than she does and we had snow....she wanted to come make a snowman!!
So up she came....her mom dropped her off and out we went to make a snowman!!!
Well, she says, "Nana, I forgot my gloves.....so I have to keep my hands in my pockets!!!"

Yes.....that meant that Nana was buidling the snowman.....
and the next thing I knew she was up in house sitting on the back of the couch all cozy with a blanket watching ME through the window build her a snowman!!

So my gift to you this holiday season is this little snow angel ornament!!

Even when it's cold outside a snowman always warms your heart!!

And don't forget to add this to your holiday baking list!!!
