Thank you Stacy for all your work to put this together!!
This is only the 2nd post of the blog hop so jump right in and don't miss a hop!!
When it comes to my Christmas memories as a child I can't help but think about
my dads long wool socks with a red stripe and red toes hanging somewhere
in the house filled with oranges and nuts Christmas morning!!

I don't really remember anything else that was in them.....just that we always were excited to dump out all those different nuts and get to use the old nut cracker.
Shiny tinsel is a vivid memory along with a special gift from Santa!!!!
Depending on the shift my dad worked determined if we opened gifts on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day!!
Its funny to sit and think about the past.....and realize that over half of it....... has been as a mom and a wife......which means I have memories of my own little family and our Christmas traditions like
hunting for the Christmas tree.
In the beginning it was just me and Jeff heading out on Hwy 26 to Mt Hood trekking through the woods and snow (ankle deep!!) in hunt of the perfect God grown Christmas tree!!!!
Several years later it involved outings in the woods with the kids in tow.....They were hunting for the tree and I was usually hunting for them (knee deep in snow)!!!
The years pass and I sent Jeff and the kids out to get the tree while I stayed home nice and warm waiting for them to return while making warm cookies and hot cocoa!! (I'm getting smarter!!)

As the kids left home it was back to me and Jeff at the corner tree lot spending way too much time and $$$ trying to find the PERFECT Christmas tree (usually in the rain) !!!!

Our kids now have their own kids (GRANDKIDS ...the JOY of my life!!!) ....
and new family traditions are being made.
So finally that brings us to our newest tradition....... I send the kids and grandkids out with money for the tree and a hunting they will go hunt (in the snow or in the rain) and bring the PERFECT tree to NANA!!
After all it doesnt matter what it looks like anymore
when the grandkids pick it out!!!!
We don't usually have a white christmas or even that much snow.....but when we do get it.... we always try and make an effort to make a snowman!!!
Last year my granddaughter Addison called and wanted to come up to Nana's house because we live at a higher elevation than she does and we had snow....she wanted to come make a snowman!!
So up she came....her mom dropped her off and out we went to make a snowman!!!
Well, she says, "Nana, I forgot my gloves.....so I have to keep my hands in my pockets!!!"

Yes.....that meant that Nana was buidling the snowman.....
and the next thing I knew she was up in house sitting on the back of the couch all cozy with a blanket watching ME through the window build her a snowman!!

So my gift to you this holiday season is this little snow angel ornament!!

Even when it's cold outside a snowman always warms your heart!!

And don't forget to add this to your holiday baking list!!!

What's the Buzz......???

How can this year be HALF over already!!??
For sure it has turned out differently as planned so far......
but one thing is for sure.....
Time is still ticking!!

And where have 60 years gone....
for some reason I have had
crowns and bees and the number 60 on my mind!!

You see with all the little girls we have in the family
we play dress up and princess alot.....
being in the presence of a princess happens
several times a week around here.....!!

Bees....with the last name BUSBY (BUZZBEE)
its a given that somehow people
want me to collect bee stuff......

 the number 60.......
besides it being the Diamond Jubilee Celebration.....

Jeff will turn SIXTY later this year!!!

So I have had fun creating this little crown pillow for my favorite chair!!
The pattern will include three other shaped crowns also.

Just back from the printer is my latest pattern called Garden Pin Pals
I have 10 pre-cut kits (BEE ONLY)
 including pattern available for $19.00.
Please email me if you are interested.
dbusby@woodenspooldesigns.com

Here is a peek at another new pattern coming soon.......
It does not have a name yet.......
but it will include several pincushions designs in it.
Oh, and did I say....I am allergic to BEE'S!!!!!
For years I had to go into the doctor for allergy shots.....
along with my mom always carrying around a syringe for an emergency on camping trips!!!

Gotta buzzzzz.......

A long over due blog post and hello to all!!

First off we are NOT at International Quilt Market
in Kansas City, Missouri as planned!!
We are sure missing everyone but happy to say we are healthy (now)!!

Jeff had a bit of a health issue in April and missed 3 weeks of work.
Needless to say we stopped everything to get him on the road to recovery!!
All plans stopped and reservations were cancelled!!
He is doing well and back at work!!
Thanks to all of you who kept us in your prayers!!

New patterns are in the works!!
Take a look at this little bee pincushion that I was able to debut at
Hollyhill Quilt Shoppe at their SPRUNG EVENT!!
The pattern is at the printer now!!
He comes with two other pincushion friends.....
