September is here and Fall is on it's way!! If you are like me then Fall is your favorite time of the year!! It might have started out when I was young because Fall meant that it was my birthday....but as I have gotten older it became a time to enjoy the warmth in the colors of the changing trees. A time to try new recipes and serve homemade apple pie. A time to put the yard to rest and come indoors and cozy up and start a journal or read a book.

Fall is a GREAT time to start a new project or begin a christmas gift!!

One of my new designs I am currently working on are wool applique book and journal covers!! Here is a glimpse of what I have been working on. The "RECIPE" journal was an idea I got from my grandmothers recipe box that I have of hers. One of my favorite things that she made me were these cookies that were like sugar cookies (they were shaped with her hands and flattened). After baking them she would take a thin chocolate mint and place it in the middle of two warm cookies!! The mint would smoosh in the middle!! She would make them and feeze them by the bag fulls for me!! I loved eating them frozen!! Sure do miss my grandma!!

Since my last post I have been very busy!! We had a GREAT time at Quilt Festival in Long Beach, California. I am always encouraged after a show.....it is so fun to see old friends and make new ones!! Thanks to all who visited me at my booth!! Your support and encouragement means so much to me!!















Four days after returning home I had surgery and had my thyroid removed!! That was 2 1/2 weeks ago.....all went well and I am on the mend and doing fine!! My husband and family are so great at taking care of me! They took me on a weekend camping trip and they planned everything!!

I have been busy getting orders out.....preparing to send a Fall Trunk Show out to The Rabbit's Lair in Rogers, AR. If you are in the area make sure and visit their wonderful shop!!

Closer to home........ I will be participating in The Pine Needle Quilt Shop Open House in Lake Oswego on September 19 & 20 along with teaching a couple of classes there this fall. They have a wonderful shop full of GREAT FABRIC!!! http://www.pineneedlequiltshop.com/

We are currently working on some improvements to our huge daylight basement so I can move my studio and office there and have much more room to work and create!! I am excited about it and can't wait to get everything moved down there. The sooner I get moved down there the sooner I will get my upcoming new designs together!!! New things are always fun!!!

International Quilt Festival Long Beach, CA

Blogging is new to me but I think I am going to like it!! I am excited to get started!!

I am hoping that on this blog I can let you see more of what I do and where I spend my time doing what I do.........DESIGN AND SEW!!!

Right now I am getting ready to participate at International Quilt Festival in Long Beach, California. WE leave in two weeks so I am working like a busy beaver as one of my friends put it.........and another would say I am being a good girl scout and getting ready!!

I think I look more like a chicken with my head cut off!!

The countdown is on............the clock is ticking......it waits for no one!! YIKES.......and here I am writing a blog at 1:30 in the morning!! Actually that is when I do my best work!!
